Programs
Hands on Learning Center is open Monday - Friday from 7 AM to 6 PM on School Days, Early Release Days, Winter Break, Spring Break, and during School Summer Vacation. We offer care for the following age groups:
2's & 3's (Non Potty Trained) Children are very playful by nature! Toddlers and 2's are full of energy and curiosity. During this time they are becoming more independent and aware of themselves as individuals. They are extremely active and want to explore everything.
3's (Potty Trained) This is a time when your child’s world will be dominated by fantasy and vivid imagination! During the next two years, they will mature in many areas including movement, hand and finger skills, language, and social and emotional milestones. Did we mention advancements in language? Feel free to ask us when you tour about our bilingual creative curriculum!
V.P.K. (4's & 5's) Before you know it, the somewhat calm child of three becomes a dynamo of energy, drive, bossiness, belligerence, and generally out-of-bounds behavior. You may be reminded of the earlier trials and tribulations you went through when they were two. Also obvious during this time is the tremendous spurt of imaginative ideas that spring from children’s minds and mouths. All of this behavior and thinking will help your youngster build a secure foundation as he or she emerges into the world.
Why Hands on V.P.K.?
Here at Hands on Learning, our pre-kindergarten is a school year program of 540 instructional hours. Class sizes will not exceed 11 students per teacher. Instructors must have a minimum of a Florida Child Care Professional Credential.
We are fortunate to have been given access to the FAST STAR testing program. This is the test that all children must take when they enter kindergarten in the fall. We will be working with each child one on one with this program. By the time they enter kindergarten and take the test, they will be extremely familiar with the program and should feel very confident when taking the test!
Another program that we are now implementing is the Age of learning My Math and My Reading Academy.
My Math Academy and My Reading Academy are research-backed programs designed to address learner variability, promote equitable instruction, and accelerate learning for preschool through 5th grade students.
Based on well-established learning science principles, these adaptive, personalized programs help children master essential math concepts and build a foundation for literacy by identifying individual strengths and growth opportunities and dynamically adjusting the learning experience of each child.
After School Program
Our innovative after-school program was developed to accommodate and lighten the load for parents during the week as well as meet the growing educational needs of children.
Our center provides transportation to and from the following neighborhood schools:

At Hands on Learning Center, we encourage our children to build long lasting friendships with each other and our staff. They get to spend time with friends and enjoy both indoor and outdoor activities that are relevant to school-age interests. Our school-age program also aligns with school calendars to provide a fun-filled and educational afternoon.
We also offer camp on school holidays, teacher in-service days and other school breaks.
